A Message from the Science History Institute about COVID-19

As of March 16, 2020, our building is closed and all public events have been moved online, postponed, or canceled until further notice.

The Science History Institute’s building is closed—including our museumlibrary, conference center, and administrative offices—and all public events have been moved online, postponed, or canceled until further notice.

While you can’t visit us in person, our Distillations team will continue to post new content on our website and Othmer Library staff members are available to researchers via email at reference@sciencehistory.org. You can also contact the conference center by phone at 215.629.5151 or by email at facilityrental@sciencehistory.org to plan your future events.

We know that many people are looking for activities during this time, and we encourage you to explore our free digital content in the Learn section of our website or to follow us on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram for engaging stories about the history of science, including links to articles, videos, podcasts, biographies, and our digital collections.

For more information and guidelines on COVID-19 visit the City of Philadelphia’s Coronavirus website or the CDC website.

We will continue to monitor the situation and will revise our policies as new information becomes available.
