Adrien is a PhD candidate at the University of Pennsylvania. Their research interests span the history and philosophy of medicine, trans studies, Asian American studies, STS, and disability studies. Their dissertation examines the history of plastic surgery, including cosmetic and gender-affirming surgery, as it circulated between the United States and East Asia over the 20th century.
