Muskan Garg

Mistry Fellow

Muskan Garg is a PhD student at the Institute for the History & Philosophy of Science & Technology at the University of Toronto. Her research interests lie at the intersection of history of science, history of medicine and history of technology. Her doctoral project, tentatively titled “Stained and ‘Stained’ Histories: The Hidden Stories of the Disciplines Histology and Histochemistry,” explores the histories of these two disciplines in South Asia from 18th to 20th centuries. During the fellowship, she will study the intellectual and economic networks of the major dyeing companies to better understand the connection between the textile industry and modern laboratories and try to find any and all South Asian connections.
