Torrey A. Chin

Torrey A. Chin is a biographer and environmental writer whose work explores the overlooked histories of women in science. She is currently completing an MA in biography and memoir at the CUNY Graduate Center.

Chin’s research focuses on early women scientists in the U.S. Department of Agriculture and their influence on American plant science and agricultural policy. Her broader portfolio spans ecobiography and education history, with forthcoming work in Environmental History Now, a book review in Agricultural History, and a presentation at the American Society of Environmental History’s annual conference. Chin is a practicing attorney based in New York.
