Stories of Science: Celebration of Summer

Join us in our museum EVERY SATURDAY for a family-friendly program that highlights the many surprising and spellbinding stories from the history of science.

Summer has finally arrived, and we have a lot to celebrate here in Philadelphia: the Semiquincentennial of the United States, the FIFA World Cup, AND the All-Star Game! Join us in the museum to delight in all the joy the summer season will bring!

Saturday’s fun, interactive activities are designed for science lovers of all ages. This week we are looking at the science behind your favorite sports games! Stop by our handling collection to learn about the curious history of turf, dirt, and gear, or complete one of our special themed scavenger hunts in honor of the FIFA World Cup.

Stop by our Object Explorer touch table to learn about the science behind everyday items like refrigerators and LED light bulbs. Chat with our experienced Gallery Guides to find out more about the people responsible for the science embedded in our daily lives.

During your visit, you can also check out our themed “drop-in” tours at 11:30am and 2pm.

Stories of Science takes place weekly on Saturdays. Admission is free and reservations are not required.
