Stories of Science: Halloween in the Historic District

Join us at the Science History Institute this Saturday for a spooky day of family fun as Old City transforms into a Halloween wonderland! Trick-Or-Treaters can drop by to pick up a sweet treat and stay to explore our museum to learn about the spell-binding stories of science history.

Saturday’s fun and interactive activities are designed for science lovers of all ages. At our spooky science activity table, you can test your knowledge of poisonous plants and craft your own Materia Medica booklet with historic images from our rare book collection. Stop by our Object Explorer touch table to learn about the science behind everyday items like refrigerators and LED light bulbs. Chat with our experienced Gallery Guides to find out more about the people responsible for the science embedded in our daily lives.

During your visit, you can also check out our themed “drop-in” tours. This Saturday, our gallery guides will be delivering our Forensics highlights tour at 11:30am. Drop-in to learn about the scientific methods used in the detection of crime. Suggested age for tour is 12 and up.

Stories of Science takes place weekly on Saturdays. Admission is free and reservations are not required.

For those visitors participating in Halloween in the Historic District, costumes are highly encouraged!
