Stories of Science: Old City Shopping Sip & Stroll
Warm up in our museum during Old City’s Holiday Shopping Sip & Stroll while enjoying family-friendly programming that highlights the many surprising and spellbinding stories from the history of science.
Visitors can also pick up a pair of free hand warmers and learn about the chemistry that makes them work. Those sipping and strolling in Old City will also receive 5% off all items in our gift shop!
Saturday’s fun, interactive activities are designed for science lovers of all ages. Take a close look at interesting items from our handling collection. This week we are cozying up with the chemistry that keeps us toasty warm during the winter season. Stop by our Object Explorer touch table to learn about the science behind everyday items like refrigerators and LED light bulbs. Chat with our experienced Gallery Guides to find out more about the people responsible for the science embedded in our daily lives.
During your visit, you can also check out our themed “drop-in” tours at 11:30am and 2pm. This week, join us on the 2pm Science & Activism Tour and explore how scientists and activists have shaped discovery and created change.
Stories of Science takes place weekly on Saturdays. Admission is free and reservations are not required.
