The Science History Institute is led by president and CEO David Cole, who works closely with the Board of Directors, Board of Overseers, Heritage Council, and senior leadership to fulfill the Institute’s commitment to making our scientific past accessible to all.
President and CEO
David Cole is the Institute’s president and CEO. He began his tenure in May 2020. Cole was most recently the executive director of the Hagley Museum and Library in Delaware and also served as the vice president for advancement, communications, and public education at the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Richard J. Bolte Jr.
Chair, Board of Directors
Richard J. Bolte Jr. is chair of the Institute’s board of directors, serving as a liaison with management and providing counsel to the president. Bolte, who is chairman and CEO of global logistics and tranporation services company BDP International, was elected as board chair on July 1, 2018.
