Kean on Genes
Today we welcome back author Sam Kean to discuss the secrets and surprises contained in our DNA.
Science writer Sam Kean joined us in 2010 to talk about the fascinating, little-known characters who helped discover each element on the periodic table, as featured in his book The Disappearing Spoon. Today he returns to Distillations’ studios to discuss his newest book, The Violinist’s Thumb. This time he reveals the quirky—and sometimes crazy—history of human understanding of our DNA. He spoke with executive producer Jennifer Dionisio about his favorite moments within the still-unfolding saga of the unraveling of the genetic code.
